Hope Child is a female-fronted,
modern rock band creating a buzz in the
San Francisco Bay Area.
Their debut CD, “Lasting Impression,” took the
number four spot in
BAM’s Top 10 Independent Releases of 1997.
Most recently, BAM showcased
Hope Child in a feature article, in which
Jim Harrington described
them as “a killer listen.”
Hope Child “successfully
draws on a
wide array of musical
backgrounds
from folk to blues and
rock, to even
jazz. People are
starting to listen.”
Hope Child’s latest
single, “Space I’m In” won Billboard Magazine’s Song
Contest in the Alternative
category. The song will be featured on an
upcoming winner’s compilation
CD, which
Billboard will distribute
to hundreds of
top music industry executives.
In addition,
Hope Child was offered
a single-song
publishing deal.
VH1 chose Hope Child from among hundreds of Bay Area bands
as the winnerof the VH1 “Big Break” Best Unsigned Band Contest two years
in a row. This year, they opened for Cheap Trick at both of the Bay
Area stops of the “Rock
Across America” tour. Last year, they performed with Barenaked
Ladies at the San Francisco stop of the
“Route ’97” tour.
